A Holy and Learning People

Exploring Sacred Space: happened
Friday 4th June — Sunday 6th June
A weekend in the Ypres Salient during which we reflect on the Christian ideas, images and languages of First World War cemeteries and memorials and explore a Christian view of war.

Emmaus Course: coming up… Date to be confirmed
A course which gets to grips with Christian basics.

History of the Eucharist: happened
A course which explores the history and development of the Holy Communion service and the rituals and vestments.

Lent Groups: happened
Explore the Christian faith with others. This year the theme is Christ’s Cross and Ours.

Girls in Fellowship Together: First Tuesday 7.45pm — 9.30pm
GIFT is the name of the G7 ladies-only Christian group.

Monday Evening Group: First Monday 7.30pm — 9.30pm
Meets to explore a Christian topic in depth.

A Missionary and Evangelistic People

Lost for Words: happened
When you’re asked why you’re a Christian, or why you go to church, how do you answer? This course will help you.

Back to Church Sunday: 26th September
We invite the people of our communities to discover, or rediscover our churches.

Alpha Course: September
A course which introduces the Christian faith.

Alpha 2: happened
Alpha 2 tackles the questions raised by Alpha.

Developing a Welcoming Culture: coming up…
How can we welcome people to church without smothering them? This course tells us how.

A Caring People

Supporting Pastoral Care: happened
Lots of people in our churches care for others, either as members of the parish pastoral visiting teams, or more informally as friends or neighbours. We thought it would be a good idea to find out more about the local resources that are available to us. Come along to Westwell Parish Hall on Monday 25th January at 7.30pm to hear representatives from Social Services, CRUSE, Citizens Advice Bureau and SureStart.

Ongoing Training and Resourcing
There are lots of issues involved in pastoral care. Ongoing training and resourcing helps our visitors to respond more effectively.

G7 Pastoral Group Meeting: Six times a year
The G7 Pastoral Group is an opportunity for the pastoral visitors to come together for training and support.

Parish Pastoral Group Meetings: Monthly
The parish pastoral groups meet monthly to talk through their response to those in need.

Children and Young People

G7Teen: Every Sunday in Term Time 6.30pm — 8pm
G7 Teen is our youth group for those aged 11-14.

Youth Alpha: coming up… Date to be announced
The Alpha course for young people.

Weekly/Monthly Children’s Groups: …
