Mission Plan of the G7 Group of Parishes

Living the life of Christ, sharing his love with others, giving light to the world

We are a group of seven church communities which, following the example of Christ, seek to welcome, value and nurture all people.

To fulfil our mission, we need to be a Holy People, a Learning People, a Missionary and Evangelistic People, and a Caring People.

A Holy People

Being a Holy People starts with worship. As a Holy People, we seek to:

• pray together regularly;
• value and encourage the ministry of every member;
• identify new ministers and ministries, both lay and ordained;
• provide opportunities for people to experience God in their lives;
• offer worship which is alive and accessible.

A Learning People

Being a Learning People starts with an open heart and mind. As a Learning People, we seek to:

• create an environment in which people are encouraged to explore their faith;
• offer small groups in which people can support one another, learn together, and grow in faith;
• help one another to active discipleship.

A Missionary and Evangelistic People

A Missionary and Evangelistic People is an outward looking people. As a Missionary and Evangelistic People, we seek to build up the Kingdom of God by:

• sharing our experience of God with others;
• engaging with people of all ages within our villages;
• recognising the differing relationships that people have with the Church;
• working together with other Christian denominations in the locality.

A Caring People

A Caring People worship God who is love. God cares for creation and for every human being as God’s beloved child. As a Caring People, we seek to reflect God’s love and care by:

• encouraging every member of our churches to be aware of those in need, both within our villages and in the wider world;
• creating and maintaining a pastoral group of people in each parish who will reach out to others in need;
• providing training and other opportunities to improve our pastoral care;
• maintaining and monitoring an effective system to protect children and vulnerable adults.
